A small budget of £500 has been offered by In Control Scotland so that the Champions board can organise and host an event bringing together a group of young disabled people with care experience, members of the Champs Board and young people with care experience.
This event is a first step in each Champs Board becoming more representative of the local population of people with care experience by building relationships across different groups.
In Control Scotland will be working alongside the Champs Board and key people over the next couple of years to support the Champs Board in becoming more inclusive and for the young disabled people involved take up self-directed support and think about how they want to get the support they need using an individual budget.
