The Big Butterfly Count

The Big Butterfly Count is a nationwide citizen science survey aimed to help assess the health of our environment.

The decline in Butterflies is an early warning for wildlife losses. Butterflies react very quickly to changes in their environment and because of this, they are key biodiversity indicators for scientists. Therefore, if their numbers are falling, then nature is in trouble.  It is crucial to help preserve our natural world by tracking the numbers of butterflies. You can help by taking part in this huge citizen science enterprise.

Bring the whole family and experience Greenbank Garden’s relaxed and beautiful surroundings, and do your part to help Mother Nature!
