We will be celebrating Pride ER Week to promote positivity towards the LGBTI community during the period from 23rd September to 3th October 2020 and want you to join us! There are lots of celebrations and ways to get involved.
What is Pride? LGBTI Pride celebrates sexual diversity and gender variance. It aims to end discrimination and violence towards lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people, promoting their self-affirmation, dignity, rights, and their visibility as a social group.
Follow the hashtag #PrideER for all the latest on Twitter and Instagram.
Raising the Pride Flag
The Pride/Progress Flag will be displayed by East Renfrewshire Council from the 23rd September onwards with a break over the September Weekend.
Light it Up!
Eastwood Leisure Centre will be lit up in Pride colours on the evening of the 23rd of September. Share your photos using the hashtag #PridER.
Virtual Pride March
A virtual Pride ER march will take place on 3rd October. It will begin at Barrhead Railway Station, progressing along Main Street and ending at the Cowan Park bandstand. As we are in the midst of Covid-19 restrictions, we would encourage members of the public to walk the route at a suitable time to them, while maintaning the current restrictions at all times.
